Book 3: Foreword by Sharon Fulkerson

For more than twenty years I have been fascinated by Terri Arnold's incredible relationship with her dogs.  The oneness she and her dogs exhibit certainly results in superior performances in the ring, but even more impressive is Terri's ability to transfer her training techniques to her students and to every breed of dog imaginable.  When you see performances from dogs that rarely get titles in obedience and these not-so-often seen breeds are working briskly and happily alongside their partners and winning--one wonders how these exhibitors have managed to achieve such success.  The common denominator?  Terri Arnold.

Are Terri Arnold's books for a non-competitive person?  Absolutely!  For the person new to the arena of dog training wanting only to gain control over his dog, the books are invaluable.  Should one wish to venture into the world of obedience and obedience titles, these books are a must!  The experience trainer will find that the information in these books anticipates every gap or weakness in any procedure.  Terri takes you by the hand, guiding you step by step through each richly illustrated exercise.  Every facet of every exercise is exquisitely thought out.

I was so pleased to read Terri's total commitment to avoiding stress for the dog.  She emphasizes the value of play and release as part of every training session. The book is the result of years of hard work, studying the pitfalls and rewards, thinking and rethinking her training methods.  Terri states in her most recent book "With the fire goes a lot of ashes."  In this book you will find the fire without the ashes.

Congratulations, Terri. Your contribution to the sport of dogs is greatly appreciated.
